Twitter is making changes

As with all social media platforms, Twitter need to make changes and updates to their platform to ensure they deliver the best service they can in a very competitive market. So, what is Twitter up to?

This time Twitter is updating it’s platform to allow you to use more characters. How? You will still be restricted to 140 character but what they count as characters is changing.

twitter-birdWhen you reply to a Tweet, @names will no longer count toward the 140-character count.

When you add attachments like photos, GIFs and videos, the characters that make up the link will no longer count as characters within your Tweet.

They are creating a Retweet button on your own Tweets, so you can easily Retweet or Quote Tweet yourself.

One of the things that we will stop seeing is the .@name which is currently used to increase exposure of tweets.

These updates will be available over the coming months

As well as these plans, Twitter has also announced that it has additional plans in motion to help you get even more from your Tweets. Watch this space…
